के बारे में नवीनतम कंपनी समाचार How to construct metal self adhesive roof membrane?

I. Core Construction Steps and Key Points

Substrate Preparation

Surface Cleaning: Ensure the substrate (wood, metal, or concrete) is free of dust, oil, loose particles, and a moisture content of ≤8% (check with a moisture meter).
Repair Defects: Cracks should be treated with caulk, uneven surfaces should be smoothed, and metal surfaces should be derusted and primed with an anti-rust primer.

Positioning and Cutting

Pre-cut the membrane according to the roof dimensions, with overlap widths ≥ 100mm (horizontally) and 150mm (vertically). For sloping roofs, lay the membrane in the direction of water flow.
For complex joints (such as gutters and chimneys), separate reinforcement sheets are cut, using a "sandwich" overlap method (base membrane, metal membrane, and sealant).

Film peeling and pasting

Apply from low to high. Immediately compact the adhesive after removing the backing film. Use a 50kg or heavier steel roller to roll in both directions to remove any air bubbles.
The ambient temperature must be ≥5°C. At low temperatures, a heat gun can be used to activate the adhesive layer (≤60°C).

Finishing and Sealing

Fix the edges with metal strips, spaced ≤ 300mm apart. Apply modified asphalt sealant (such as SBS) to the nail holes.

Install annular waterproof gaskets around penetrating components (such as solar mounts) and apply a liquid waterproof coating.

II. Key Quality Control Items

Adhesive Layer Performance: Select a butyl adhesive film that meets ASTM D1970 standards, with a peel strength ≥ 0.5 kN/m (test method ASTM D903).

Metal Layer Corrosion Protection: Preferable aluminum-zinc-coated steel (AZ150) or 304 stainless steel film, with a salt spray test of ≥ 1000 hours.

Wind Resistance Test: Perform dynamic wind pressure testing according to UL 1897 to ensure a wind resistance rating of ≥ 90 mph.

III. Additional Recommendations and Professional Resources

Advanced Material Selection Guide

Altitude areas: Choose a modified rubber-based membrane (such as an EPDM composite membrane) with low-temperature flexibility down to -40°C.

Coastal environments: Recommend a metal membrane with a fluorocarbon coating that is chloride-resistant (complying with ISO 12944 C5-M).

Application Tool Optimization Solution

Automatic film cutters (such as the Trimair C100) can improve cutting accuracy for complex shapes to ±1mm.

An infrared thermal imager (FLIR E8) is used to check adhesive bond density and prevent hollowing.
